still enjoying warm weather. . .

we're still hanging around in New Orleans, not doing much of anything :)

Cafe du Monde, where we started the day with the beignets and cafe au lait

yes. they're delicious. the coffee was good too!

yep - that crazy person is my husband :) he likes to get in the shots.

still him.

there are beautiful statues and green spaces everywhere, and if you look closely you can see everything is adorned with beads :)

I really like old doors.

Pierre Maspero's where we had lunch - the coolest restaurant!

I had the alligator po'boy - it was soooo good!

Brandon had the pork sandwich - it was good, too [although not as good as mine :)]

randomness.

we were wandering around and saw that a little bar had a baseball game on, so we stopped in for a beer - mine's a local brew and it was very tasty :) a good way to relax on a hot day.

we took a little stroll last night after dinner [which was EXCELLENT but we were at a really nice place and it seemed kind of hoosier to take pics of it, so I didn't :) ]

We're off to do more relaxing today, then start heading back tomorrow, but slowly :) it's been nice being a bum :)

Happy Easter!!

I'm a few days into my low-key vacation and it's been great! We're hanging out with some family for the weekend, and we're off to New Orleans this afternoon. Here's a short recap for what I've done so far.

We met up with Brandon's family to see the Memphis Zoo on Friday:

Brandon started off the day push-pressing Sydney. It soon became the theme of the weekend.

the Memphis Zoo is really nice, and they have Pandas! Here's one chowing down.

here's the other one - notice the 'leftovers' and the big gut :)

the Polar Bear habitat was really interactive - Barrett and Sydney had a great time. they could get so close!

Clearly it's time to go :)

...............

After the zoo we all drove down to Ocean Springs Mississippi to visit Brandon's gramps and hang out for Easter [and stay for free! gotta love that!]

He took us all on a boat ride - it was so nice to enjoy being outside - it was sunny and about 75 degrees. I don't think I want to go back to Missouri for a while :)

Sydney had a blast when he picked up the speed a bit

Barrett liked it too :)

I love this pic! From left to right - my Brother-In-Law Justin, Sister-in-Law Sydney, and Brandon [my husband, if you didn't already know :) ]

Sydney's been extra goofy all weekend :)

Again the push-pressing. Like I said, it's been a theme. There were several other instances, but I thought it might get too dull to post all of them :)

Stay tuned for pics of New Orleans - it's supposed to rain, so we'll see how many I take :)

Labor Day Fun!

Yesterday I took the day off and spent it doing practically nothing. It was really nice :) Brandon and I took the dogs to Elephant Rocks. We're only about 15 or 20 minutes away, but it's not too far from St. Louis either - maybe an hour and a half. It's a perfect place to go have a picnic and play on the 500 ton granite rocks - and it's free! The dogs had lots of fun climbing on them - they tired out pretty quickly :)

Brandon with the dogs amongst huge granite boulders

our little Rocky!

Sadie was constantly trying to pull me through tight cracks in the rocks, and looked at me like that when I told her we couldn't. She's so pretty!

We found a spot to take a family photo - our first one!

this is classic Sadie - she's tired [you can tell by her eyes - I've been her mom for 5 years and I can tell these sorts of things] but she still has a huge smile.

It was a good day.

Jody and Jeff, the real post

Jody and Jeff had a super-sized e-session in Chicago last week. I was already there, why not? We had a great time all afternoon, with perfect weather. I took a lot, so I had a really hard time narrowing them down for the blog. This is the best I could do :)

Jody has a great smile, and they laugh a lot - I love that!

this one's cute - I love the way she looks at him

I can't wait to see her as a bride!

we stopped for some refreshments at a place on North Beach, and there was this awesome red wall - of course I made them stand in front of it!

While we were walking around, we found some yummy light in Lincoln Park

they even treated us to dinner - thanks guys!

this is neither Jody nor Jeff, but the Tin Man in Oz park - very cool! and kinda creepy. . .

I can't resist a dark alley :)

thanks guys for a great time! I can't wait for your wedding!
