Morgan & Jarrett

I love engagement sessions. Not only do they allow me to get to know the bride and groom when they're not immersed in stress, they also let me hang out at the park for the afternoon. Morgan & Jarrett's e-session was a little different in an awesome way - we got to hang out at the Zoo! They're both members and Zoo Parents [which I totally want to become, btw]. We spent the better part of 2 hours milling around the zoo and enjoying the beautiful sunny afternoon. Here are a few of their [many] photos:

This little dude is awesome! Look at how his legs are crossed like he's just hangin' out :)

We rode the train [and I was the creepy person sitting in front of them, staring at them the whole time]

They laughed the whole time - but then again, how could you not have a great time at the zoo?

This one's definitely a favorite!

We rode the carousel for some more fun zoo-like pics. Also, I learned that even if you're an adult and are riding the giraffe [who doesn't go up and down] you absolutely can not ride sidesaddle. Bummer. Still a lot of fun, though :) And look how cute they are!

As I mentioned before, they're both Zoo Parents. Jarrett's the parent of a warthog, and there was one on the carousel! He's on the left :) Morgan's the parent of a meercat, but those are a little small to ride on.

they're so much fun!

The End! Thanks guys so much for inviting me out to the Zoo on a lovely fall afternoon :)

Jennifer & Maurice

Jennifer and Maurice were married a few weeks ago at the new Hilton Garden Inn in O'Fallon, IL. It's a beautiful venue! The day was perfect with a blue sky and no clouds, and fun was had by everyone. Here are a few from their day:

Heather + Andy

Wow - what a gorgeous wedding! I was really looking forward to it ever since their engagement shoot last November. They're so laid back and so gorgeous! She planned everything really well, and neither of them sweat the small stuff - it was an easy day, for sure :)

starting with the shoes again, of course :) these seem to have been made just for the day - lovely.

Her dress is friggin' awesome! It's all crinkly and a beautiful color! And it fit her perfectly.

here's Andy [in case you couldn't already tell :) ] he looked very dapper that day

the flower girl [Heather's niece] was a puppy dog that day :) isn't she too cute?!

Heather is such a classic beauty - a pleasure to photograph.

and very statuesque, too!

"How could you describe her and not use the word 'statuesque'?" . . .if you can name that quote, we should hang out.

I'm in love with this bouquet - so simple and classic. It's perfect.

the lovely ladies

gorgeous!

I love the way she smiles at him - almost as much as I love that light :)

The End!

Carter

This is Carter. He hates having his photo taken - can you tell?

Carter's Mom does my hair [she does an awesome job with my thick, crazy head of hair] and she asked me to photograph her son while he had his horse-riding lesson. I've only been to her once, and while we were chatting during my haircut, she asked what I do. When I said that I'm a photographer, she said 'wait - is this you?' and held up my business card. Well - yes, that is me :) Another client of mine gets her hair done at the same place and had shown off pics of her kids that I had taken. Weird how things like that happen!
Anyhoo - I met up with them during his lesson and took some photos of him in his cute outfit and with Jesse, the horse.

This is Jesse. He kept getting into the shot - he really likes having his picture taken :)

HA! I got one!

Carter's Mom wanted some lifestyle photos of him and his horse, not so much smiley photos. I think I got it :)
